BDZ Holdings acquired two, two storey offices situated in a prominent position on Mill Lane in Newbury, backing onto the Kennet and Avon Canal. The design and layout of the two buildings, the position backing onto the canal, access to the nearby town centre and railway station meant that the offices lent themselves perfectly to be converted to residential accommodation.

Having worked with NCS when moving their head office in 2013 which involved a complete office refurbishment including office design, office partitioning, decoration, lighting and advice on furniture selection in conjunction with a conversion of the top floor to offer a three bedroom three bathroom flat, BDZ were more than confident that NCS were the perfect partners to undertake their new venture.

The initial design consultancy offered BDZ the opportunity to convert the two buildings into eight two bedroom, two bathroom flats each offering two car parking spaces and either patios or Juliet Balconies overlooking the canal.

The project involved the complete gutting of the existing building, re-arrangement of all of the utilities to each of the eight flats, internal walls laid to the agreed design, re-wiring, plumbing, kitchen selection and fit, bathroom selection and fit, lighting, window selection and fit, both hardwood flooring and carpeting all the way through to external patio and landscaping.

This was truly a test of the full spectrum of services that NCS have to offer and we are pleased to say that that BDZ are completely satisfied with the end result, within days of the show flat being available two sales were achieved which can only be testament to the end product.

Whilst the project is still at the final stages of being finalised both the schedule and budget have met BDZ’s expectations.
