FAQs

What exactly does NCS do?

NCS specialises in interior fit outs and refurbishments for a variety of working environments in both commercial, domestic and public premises.

Where do you work?

We work predominantly in West Berkshire and nearby areas.

How do I know if the workplace I want will be fully compliant with the relevant buildings legislation?

NCS ensures that all work carried out is compliant with current building regulations, including CDM (Construction, Design and Management regulations) and the DDA (Disability Discrimination Act). We will advise you as to whether planning permission will be required and can apply on your behalf.

Will my work area comply with the latest Health and Safety regulations?

NCS undertakes its health and safety obligations very seriously. We take great care to ensure that all our work conforms to the latest regulations and guidance. Our health and safety policy is strictly implemented at all levels to make certain that every project is managed with health and safety in mind. In addition, our independent health and safety advisor compiles a full risk assessment and method statements prior to starting each project.

Will we need to move or disrupt our staff?

In the vast majority of cases, there will be no need to move staff. We do our utmost to minimise disruption and to work around the day-to-day needs of our clients. In most cases you will be able to work as normal, occupying the workspace throughout the course of the project. Where this is not possible, we can work during the evenings, weekends or holidays if required to reduce disruption further.

Will we need to be involved in the process?

You can be involved as much or as little as you wish! Once we have discussed your needs and assessed the workspace, we will agree on the design, timings and budgets with you. Our experienced project managers will then manage the day to day running of the project whilst liaising closely with you to keep you updated with its progress.

Do you offer flexible finance options?

Many of the more intangible costs involved with refurbishing an office can be paid for by leasing. Elements such as partitioning, carpets, and design costs can all be covered. Furthermore, they can be included on a single lease agreement, giving you one easy monthly payment for your total solution. In addition, NCS offers a free, no commission leasing facility to its clients as part of its service. We can introduce you to a contact whose aim is to obtain the best deal for a client.

Can NCS work to the rigorous guidelines demanded by the public sector?

Yes. We have worked with many clients throughout the public sector including hospitals, schools and local government. We work to high health and safety standards, employing an independent health and safety consultant to assist us on projects.
